This activity is perfect for those who love to keep things neat and tidy. It is a simple sorting exercise that can also help improve coordination skills. Additionally, it may even jog some memories. Most importantly, it gives participants a sense of accomplishment when finished!
For best results, we suggest doing this activity with just one person, or with two people who would like to work together.
Here's what you'll need:
1. A tray and tea towels
2. A cutlery tray with picture labels showing where the knives, forks, and spoons belong
3. Wet cutlery
4. Labels (downloadable by clicking "activity resource")
To get started:
1. Mix up the cutlery on a separate tray.
2. Ask your tidy partner if they would like to help you dry and sort the cutlery.
3. Hand them the tea towel and guide them to where each dried item should go based on the picture labels.
4. Once everything is dried and sorted, thank them for their help and enjoy the newly organized cutlery!
To make things even easier, consider using colored labels on the cutlery and color-coordinating the sections of the tray they belong in. For example, forks with yellow labels would go in the yellow section.
